Our Curriculum

Our curriculum is designed to develop our students so that they are:

  • ambitious in their dreams and thinking
  • confident in themselves and their abilities
  • independent in their mind and actions
  • creative in their problem-solving and imagination

Through their Langton journey students follow a broad, balanced and coherent curriculum, one which is academically ambitious and provides the essential knowledge and skills that are the foundations for lifelong intellectual curiosity, cultural understanding and personal development, where wellbeing is at the heart of our education.

Students participate in the Langton Extended Curriculum where future pathway and elective programmes take a premium, moving learning beyond the confines of the National Curriculum and examination specification. Through this we encourage the development of transferrable traits and prepare students for the next phases of their lives, ready to contribute positively to society and live happy, healthy and fulfilled lives. They will leave us as good people.

British Values

The Department for Education recently published guidance on promoting the values of democracy; the rule of law; individual liberty; and respect and tolerance for other religions.

We are fully committed to implementing these values through our curriculum and in all aspects of our school life. We also recognise that these values are not exclusively British. However, we do believe that these values are fundamental to what it means to be a ‘good’ human being.

British Values are delivered across the entire curriculum, through lessons and extra-curricular activities.  Some aspects are also delivered discretely in Personal Development lessons.
